Using a Stallion 8-port ISA with a 2.0.xx kernel in a
4MB 486 with zero trouble. It just works.
The multi-port serial vendors where among the first to
realize that Linux support was a good thing, so they
are generally well supported.
I'd go for cards that are supported in stock kernels,
as it shows that they have a track record of Linux
support and you don't have to maintain separate patches
or modules when you re-compile.
