I didn't read all of the previous messages which were broadly on this
subject so forgive me if I'm covering old ground. I think that as the ILUG
grows, with in excess of 600 members subscribing to the list, the list is
bound to become less focused as it is used by more people with different
areas of interest. I think the only answer to this is to divide the list,
perhaps into a die-hard technical forum, and a more general discussion group
where people could discuss anything from domain name policy, to the best
place to buy computer hardware, or the price of leased lines, or deal with
newbie questions without irritating the die-hard users. I imagine this was
pretty much what was intended with the social list, but that obviously
hasn't happened.
As for a name, I don't know, perhaps leave the 'ilug' list as it is and add
a 'linux' list, or maybe just 'die-hard' ?
