[ILUG] SCSI devices

[ILUG] SCSI devices

Fergal Daly fergal at esatclear.ie

I have an external scsi cd burner and an internal scsi dvd

Burner scsi id 1
DVD scsi id 2

so when they're both turned on and I load my scsi module I get

Burner /dev/scd0
DVD /dev/scd1

but when I turn off the burner and load the module I get

DVD /dev/scd0

which means my mount stuff is confused. Anyone know how to force a
certain id to go with a certain device file regardless of what's
plugged in?

I don't want to leave the burner turned on all the time and although
it'd probably fix it, I'm looking for something a bit more software
than changing the IDs so the DVD is first. Thanks,

Fergal
