It's not all free - only from 1800 - 0800 weekdays and all day Saturday,
Sunday, and holidays.

Of course it works fine in as far as any modem connection does, but I
wouldn't say it rocks. I have periods when it drops the line (though I must
say, not so much lately)

Why on earth would you ? You must fill in a form authorising Esat to take
your money, and giving the telephone number you wish to access it from, and
then takes them a couple of days to process.
I have the following in /etc/wvdial.conf (transpose into another tool, if
you want)
[Dialer Defaults]
Modem = /dev/modem
Baud = 57600
Init1 = ATZ
Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 S11=55 +FCLASS=0
Area Code =
Phone = 1332103001235
Username = nolimits
Password = nolimits
Dial Command = ATDT
Stupid Mode = 1
New PPPD = 1
[Dialer surf]
Phone = 1332103001235
Username = nolimits
Password = nolimits
and the DNS servers are 194.145.128.1 & 194.145.128.2
