Octocon 2000 is the Eleventh National Irish Science-Fiction Convention -
for ten years, Octocon has been the place for people who like Science
Fiction and Fantasy to meet other like-minded people and share their
common enjoyment of books, television, cinema, gaming and other facets
of these diverse genres. This year, Octocon has a new venue - moving
from the port of Dun Laoghaire into the centre of Dublin will give
access to a greatly expanded range of nearby facilities, and the
Convention facilities in the Royal Dublin Hotel will make for an
excellent atmosphere.

This year, we're adding a Live-Action Rôle-Playing game to Octocon.
Entitled 'The MorningStar', it gives Con attendees a chance to
participate in an exciting weekend-long game without missing out on
Octocon's other events. See http://www.octocon.com/larp.php3 for
details.

Roger Gregg, a talented voice actor, is writing a radio play to be
performed live at Octocon 2000, and broadcast live on RTE (Irish
national) Radio. Audience participation is guaranteed to be
entertaining...

In addition, there'll be the usual Octocon round of panels, discussions,
games, klatches, quizzes, an unforgettable Masquerade party on Saturday
night, and, of course, Guinness... this isn't one to miss!
