[ILUG] Missing sound and network card drivers

[ILUG] Missing sound and network card drivers

Breathnach, Proinnsias (Dublin) breatpro at exchange.ie.ml.com
Tue Jun 20 10:14:49 IST 2000

Most of these drivers are in the kernel source, so shouldn't be hard to come
across ...

What does a `cat /proc/pci` give you when compared with the output from
pnpdump (the 509B is an ISA pnp card IIRC)

You generally need to set parameters for the 3Com cards <insert bitter
experience here>, io=0x330 can often do it ... unfortunately this frequently
conflicts with sound-card io ports ... isapnpconf is your friend here.

The soundcard should be the easier bit, but (again) might require a modules
compilation ...
