or to remove:
echo "scsi remove-single-device ......
where c=controller,b=bus, u=unit/id, l=lun. They'll nearly all be 0 on
most systems. Eg to add your scanner on ID 4:
echo "scsi add-single-device 0 0 4 0" > /proc/scsi/scsi
