:>I have a large number of linux pc's - the majority of which are running red
:>hat 5.2.
:>However, there are a couple that are running red hat 6.1. I find on the 6.1
:>machines that sendmail takes ages to start on bootup. I don't really know
:>anything about sendmail - does anybody have ideas as to what could cause
:>this. On the same machines, x-windows also takes a while to start.

Stick in
localhost.localdomain AFTER 127.0.0.1 and before localhost in /etc/hosts.
Should stop it hanging.
