goto is still a valid way of doing (localised) error handling:

case
	case 1
	 ...
	 if error goto error
	 return result1
	case 2
	 ...
	 if error goto
	 return result2
	case n
	 ...
	 if error goto error
	 return resultn

error:  return error

In such a case it's actually easier to read with the goto's. (istm)
