[ILUG] Weird DNS issue

[ILUG] Weird DNS issue

If I ask my firewall's nameserver for the NS records
for cardbase.com, here's what I get:

[kenn at atlas kenn]$ dig cardbase.com ns @cerberus

   ; <<>> DiG 8.2 <<>> cardbase.com ns @cerberus
   ; (1 server found)
;; res options: init recurs defnam dnsrch
   ;; got answer:
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NXDOMAIN, id: 6
;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 0, AUTHORITY: 1, ADDITIONAL: 0
   ;; QUERY SECTION:
   ;; cardbase.com, type = NS, class = IN

   ;; AUTHORITY SECTION:
   COM. 2h55m52s IN SOA A.ROOT-SERVERS.NET.
hostmaster.internic.NET. (
                                        2000062101 ; serial
                                        30M ; refresh
                                        15M ; retry
                                        1W ; expiry
                                        1D ) ; minimum

If I ask, say ns.iol.ie, here's what I get:

[kenn at atlas kenn]$ dig cardbase.com ns @ns.iol.ie

   ; <<>> DiG 8.2 <<>> cardbase.com ns @ns.iol.ie
   ; (1 server found)
;; res options: init recurs defnam dnsrch
   ;; got answer:
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 6
;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 3, AUTHORITY: 0, ADDITIONAL: 3

   ;; cardbase.com, type = NS, class = IN

   ;; ANSWER SECTION:
   cardbase.com. 23h44m55s IN NS ns2.xensei.com.
   cardbase.com. 23h44m55s IN NS ann.indigo.ie.
   cardbase.com. 23h44m55s IN NS una.indigo.ie.

   ;; ADDITIONAL SECTION:
   ns2.xensei.com. 7h41m33s IN A 198.151.175.4
   ann.indigo.ie. 18h58m47s IN A 194.125.133.10
   una.indigo.ie. 15h11m19s IN A 194.125.133.11

;; Total query time: 675 msec
   ;; FROM: atlas.bluetree.ie to SERVER: ns.iol.ie 194.125.2.240
   ;; WHEN: Thu Jun 22 11:29:23 2000
   ;; MSG SIZE sent: 30 rcvd: 151

What's the story here? Right now, mail to cardbase.com is
bouncing with a "host not found". Am I going to have to
restart all my name servers (given that the incorrect
answer has a TTL of 3 hours)?

Is there any way to force BIND to remove a single record
from it's cache?

BIND-8.2.2-P3, Red Hat's latest RPM for RH4.2.

Later,
Kenn
