anyway heres a sed thingy:

sed -n 1~2p filename

to alternate lines just use sed -n 2~2p filename
this is fun, should be one every Friday.

Having seen everyone elses entries (and I had to admin, I would never have
come up with any of them, mainly cos I don't use PERL or sed all that much
(or awk)), I'm curious to know what Lars's 'tip of the day' was going to be?
Does Lars have an even better way of doing it?
