This is probably one of the stupidist things to do, but hey at the same
time I bet it happens a lot as well (I hope)!
The root password on a Redhat 6.0 box was changed and forgotten before I
arrived at my new job where they gave me the job of maintaining the box! I
had started trying to upgrade the Kernel but do not have the root password
to do so.
I have physical asccess to the box and so tried to type "linux single" at
the LILO prompt but it times out before I get a chance to type the whole
thing. Is there any other way I would be able to change the password?
Thanks in advance,
