[ILUG] [OT] Microsoft's new C# language -- it's Java

I concurr. That looked sufficiently C++/Java like to convince me. I
haven't read the release but I don't see the point. I mean, they're already
polluting C++ and Java with their own extensions, one wonders how the
addition of this C# will alter things in that regard. My guess is that
this is a marketing effort on M$'s part to shift more software, training
courses and dead-treeware. My guess is that it doesn't advance language
developement one iota either. I read about this last year when it was
called 'COOL'. It seemed then like a Java Clone because Sun slapped them
across the hand for pissing about with Java - so they decided to just write
their own version - bit like what they did when faced with CORBA - went and
introduced their own half-assed version!
