Sure... I saw a host on www.uptimes.net who mentioned how he had gone to a
lot of trouble to keep a machine up while moving it 3 miles so he could keep
his uptime! Do you know what a small bump in a car can *do* to a fast
spinning HD? Never mind about the gyro effect going around corners. He mus
have had a 2 day UPS just so he could drive slow enough to avoid damaging
the disks.

I wouldn't *dream* of plugging anything other than the base unit into the
UPS anyhow. In fact, I don't even have a monitor for the server and I don't
even have the firewall yet!

I'm getting the firewall for when NTL: get around to providing their much
touted 24/7 cable net connections (I shouldn't be in any rush, 1 or 2 years
to get the box organised I'd say...)

Interesting though, they have auctions for used gear, an APC BK500U for $25
(120volt only and only within the USA though)

Yeah, I'll have to worry about what I'll do with my fingers for a few hours
without the kiss of 105 keys!-)

It's probably just pissing in the wind anyhow, I've better things to spend
my money (if I had any) on anyhow.
