Hi Guys,

Just reading this stuff about BW of up to 45Mbps scares me.
Only thing that I'm aware of that allows coexistence of POTS and high
speed data is ADSL which offers 9Mbps from network to user and about 1Mbps
upstream on short loops. Degrades to about 256Kbps on longer loops (18k
feet). Only thing which gets close to the BW Genesis mention is VHDSL
which is a 'very' short local loop from an optical node attached to a
fibre. Speeds are around 50 Mbps @ 1000 feet degrading to 25 Mbps @ 3000.
You could use this in small housing estate to go from an optical terminal
to each of the houses over copper or alternatively use it in an office
building. My guess is that they mean ADSL and they've gotten the BW wrong.

But I hope they have not gotten the BW wrong, there would be nothing to
look forward to except more indigo or tinet BW.

James
