Hmm . . this sounds even more likely that my earlier thought could be
right i.e. that +bs means to use spare videoram for backing store. Kate -
maybe you could start with and without the +bs option and then do
xdpyinfo|grep option and see if backing store gets mentioned. Of course,
the output from xdpyinfo in 3.9.xx may have changed, but you know what I
mean.
