[ILUG] [OT] Network without wires

[ILUG] [OT] Network without wires

Peter Dempsey p.dempsey at faac.ie
Fri Mar 3 12:38:40 GMT 2000

I want to connect a couple of computers to our NT network, should be a
piece of cake, here's the catch...

The computers are in RF screened rooms. The rooms are designed to prevent
RF from getting in or out. Running cables in or out of the rooms is not
really possible without the use of bandpass filters which is a real hassle
with network cables.

Fibre-optics looks like the way to go. Has anyone used such hardware or
have anything they'd like to share on the subject.

Of course, if there are any other suggestions 'd be glad to hear them.

Sorry for the OT post and the potentially misleading subject line.

Have fun!

Peter
