suppose one has the following:
+-------+
| foo |-+
+-------+ |
|
+-------+ | +---------+ +----------+
| bar |-+---| gateway |----| mailhost |
+-------+ | +---------+ +----------+
|
+-------+ |
| floyd |-+
+-------+
mail is generated on foo, bar, and floyd from users abc and xyz; and
mail on gateway is generated by kevin. for all internet bound traffic
(which goes through mailhost) i'd like the from header to be rewritten
on gateway so that mail from those users ({abc|xyz}@{foo|bar|floyd} and
kevin at gateway) comes from kevin.lyda at itg.ie. this must be true in the
822 From: header, and in the 821 MAIL FROM: command.
sendmail answers only. i've written up a perl script to do it for now,
and i have absolutely positively no interest in learning about postfix,
qmail, exim, or anything else. none.
