I spent yesterday rewriting Io (http://io.linux.ie for a demo).
So far, I've only worked on the display code. The admin and "add
message" functions have yet to be done, but I have taken a more OO
approach than before.
If anyone would like to see what I have done so far please mail me off
list and I'll reply with an attached tarball. The archive only contains
2 files, and doesn't include either the database abstraction layer
(phplib) or the SQL schema so it's practically useless and would be
quite difficult to run.
Nevertheless if anyone wants to look at the code please mail me.
It's all done in PHP3, with a MySQL backend (db is interchangable)
