[ILUG] Linux Newbie - Basic Question RPM

[ILUG] Linux Newbie - Basic Question RPM

Justin MacCarthy macarthy at iol.ie

Hi, very simple question, but couldn't find an answer in the MAN pages...

I'm new to RPM, and I was trying to install a package yesterday.

When I ran rpm -i <package> I got a a message telling me that I was missing
dependencies
,ld-linux.os.2 and a load of others. Do I need to install other packages
first, ie the packages which contain these libs ????? If so how can I find
out which packages contain these libs????

I'm currently running RedHat 6.0 ...

Be gentle ....
Thanks

~Justin MacCarthy
