] Stick "exec gnome-session" in the bottom of your ~/.xinitrc

Look for the gnome-wm script. When you run gnome-session in you .xinitrc
file, it in turn runs the gnome-wm script in order to determine what WM to
use. It normally uses enlightenment, but if there is a problem with e, then
it will use something else. You may have permissions wrong on the e binary,
or you may have it install in the wrong directory, or something. Read
though the gnome-wm file and it should help.

On my box it's /usr/bin/gnome-wm, but you might also find it in
/usr/X11R6/bin/gnome-wm
