Hi, I hope one of you out there can help me..
sometimes when I restart samba with an application such as word or excel
accessing a file on the samba server (I know it's not a clever thing to
do), I run into problems. Sometimes, all I have to do is click on
NetNeighbourhood and I'm prompted for my u/n and p/w again. Other times,
it's more serious, and I get stuff like "Unexpected Network error", in
which the applications that were accessing the remote files hang, and a
reboot is neeeded. Anyone any idea what's causing the randomness of this,
and how I can recover the hung files?
Also, one thing I've wanted to be able to do for a while now is to send a
winpopup message with 'smbclient -M' to every host accessing the server,
is there any way to do this?
Cheers
- John
