Does anyone know what the relevance of the above ports are?
I'm running mason, a firewall "generator" that learns what your traffic
is.
It's running in "learn" mode now and caught accesses to these ports..
Hmm.. there it goes again, and using higher ports now.
Here's a sample output of the rules it generates:
/sbin/ipfwadm -a accept -W lo -O -P udp -S localhost/32
957 -D localhost/32 820 # (O) ##
S=localhost:957 D=localhost:820
/sbin/ipfwadm -a accept -W lo -I -P udp -S localhost/32
957 -D localhost/32 820 # (I) ##
S=localhost:957 D=localhost:820
/sbin/ipfwadm -a accept -W lo -O -P udp -S localhost/32
820 -D localhost/32 957 # (O) ##
S=localhost:820 D=localhost:957
/sbin/ipfwadm -a accept -W lo -I -P udp -S localhost/32
820 -D localhost/32 957 # (I) ##
S=localhost:820 D=localhost:957
/sbin/ipfwadm -a accept -W lo -O -P udp -S localhost/32
958 -D localhost/32 820 # (O) ##
S=localhost:958 D=localhost:820
/sbin/ipfwadm -a accept -W lo -I -P udp -S localhost/32
958 -D localhost/32 820 # (I) ##
S=localhost:958 D=localhost:820
I haven't had time to look into this in much detail before so please
excuse any ignorance.
Donncha.
