I'm happy for everyone that wants their say to reply, but it was not
aimed at you (or anyone) in particular.

I'm not saying I'll never ever use linux for anything again as long as
I live, but it has/had this major problem with it, which was not fixed
for a very long time, which means it, and the people responsible for
it, are very suspect in my mind, exactly the same as the big problems
NT has, and has had forever, which means Microsoft are very suspect in
my mind, which means that NT will be far down on my list of choices
of OS.
I remain convinced that I'm judging every OS I use on the same
criteria.
