Even though I am sure that I will not be able to "discuss" the points
eloquently enough, I think that ILUG is more than just a community of
GNU/Linux/*BSD people, it is really more like a group which uses
products and components which come under various licences ( artistic,
open, GPL, LGPL, MPL, NPL, QPL, ......... ) but where essentially they
have access to code and certain rights which are far beyond the traditional
commercial licences.
But besides a licence discussion what I think would be great is if we could
come up with a name which encapsulates all of this.
[But putting on my Devils Advocate hat......]
However the name would also need to be instantly recognizable as indicating
what the group stands for and as a rallying point for new users.
And at the moment the name "Irish Linux Users Group" probably does this
better than most.
