[ILUG] More fetchmail/mutt woes

Hi all,
        I'm biting the bullet and trying to setup mutt, having grown
impatient with Pine's limitations (but it was so easy to use :-( ) and I'm
simultaneously starting to use fetchmail. I've now encountered a problem
which I can't resolve automatically and that is that mutt always makes my
From: address  niall at bagend.local. I've RTFM and I tried setting
reverse_name but that didn't help - I think that because I use fetchmail,
the mail appears to have arrived at my machine, which is the way fetchmail
of course works. So, what to do ? I want to get rid of all references to
local in my mails - how do I do that ? I've a sneaky suspicion that the
answer to all this is to simply run install-sendmail but I've been
resisting that :-).
