[ILUG] Synchronous smbmount?

[ILUG] Synchronous smbmount?

Kenn Humborg kenn at bluetree.ie

Starting with Samba-2.0.6, the smbfs user tools have
been re-worked to fit in with the standard mount command
(so you can do mount -t smb //server/share /mnt -o user=kenn)

When you do this, the mount command returns immediately, but
the actual mounting process continues asynchronously in the
background. Therefore, in scripts, I have to either wait a
few seconds or run a loop waiting for it to be mounted.

Does anyone know of a way to get the smbfs mount to happen
synchronously?

Later,
Kenn
