For me, it's quite a bit faster.
Check do you have mtrr enabled in the kernel. Then, make use of it.
Next, run xdpyinfo |grep option
If it states;
options: backing-store NO, save-unders NO
Then, edit whatever starts off X, and give it a +bs option to turn back
on backing stores.
