net for just this purpose. free shell accounts on linux and tru64 on
intel and alpha (i think tru64 is just on alpha).
indeed compaq do. Search on www.unix.digital.com for Testdrive. (they
sent me a little ferrari with a compaq logo).
however, these machines are intended for people to log into them and
check out the enviroment to see whether it's what they need. They're
not meant as shell accounts, and indeed they're not much good for
that cause most stuff has been turned off - you can't telnet/ftp
out. etc.
dunno the url off hand but it was mentioned in linuxtoday and/or
slashdot.
