A guy I know is looking for an easy way to transfer
a bunch of records from a table in an Oracle
database to a Sybase database. They want to write
a tool which is portable between NT and Linux that
would run as a cron job (or NT equivalent).
They'd like to use C++, if possible. They don't
know Perl and don't want to have to learn it. They'd
prefer not to use Java for performance reasons.
So, what cross-platform DB access libraries are out
there (such as OBDC)? Is there some neat hack that
you database gurus know of?
