not according to GPL it isn't. it needs linus's permission (and no
discension from other kernel developers). but by default it's not
allowed.

then they would be in violation of GPL.

can anyone confirm or deny whether unison are using a stock kernel or a
modded one? and if modified, has anyone asked unison (particularly a
unison customer) asked them for the source?
