[ILUG] Tutorial: How to use mailman...

if one is subscribed to a high traffic mailing list that is about to
have a long drawn out thread on meta-type discussions *AND* that list
happens to be run by mailman, your mail spool has nothing to fear.

go to the web site for the mailing list (eg
http://www.linux.ie/mailman/options/ilug/user@site.net - fill in your
email address) and click the disable mail delivery to "on". now you can
wait out the storm of e-bureaucracy in safety.

at that point it might be wise to let folks know that if they have any
on-topic posts that you might be able to help them with (eg "how do i
use this kickstart thingie you mentioned?") that you should be emailed
privately (eg kevin at suberic.net).

enjoy,

kevin

meatspace place: home shootin' people. maybe we were aiming high."
