[ILUG] ever in search of The Right Cable

[ILUG] ever in search of The Right Cable

Is there a particular place in Ireland who are known to have reasonably priced
and *available* selections of cables? E.g., a pcmcia card plug to DB25 cable
so I can use my scanner w/ an Adaptec slimSCSI pcmcia card? (Ordering one
from Adaptec costs US$36, which is an insane price for one cable---that's
$1 for the cable, $35 for the shipping.)

Or, the place would equally be asked about the reverse---a DB25 male to, say,
a 50pin high-density *female* scsi-ii plug. Or a female-to-female 50pin
high-density (or low-density) adapter so two cables w/ male ends can be joined
up.

No luck at Peats, I even dug through their discount bins looking for them.
(Did find one cable that was only a pound, while the exact same one hanging on
the shelf w/ a less ripped package costs six.) The other places I tried all
said to go to Peats. (No market grip there...)

Thanks for any suggestions,
B
