[ILUG] Mandrake7.0 + newbie problems

I'm a relative newbie who's just installed Mandrake
7.0 from the PcPlus CD.
Very, very impressive package indeed. I have tried a
few other Linux packages a few months ago before I new
what to do with them, but eventually ditched them
all(Corel, earlier RH and Mandrake). This one I'm
sticking with, without a doubt.
I need a little help though:
How do I go about setting up a wheel mouse?
What do I do if one of my programs mysteriously stops
working(kmpg player)?
Does anybody know anything about the linmodem driver
for the LT modem, will there be an updated version for
kernel 2.2.14 anytime soon or should I just go out and
buy a proper modem(anybody have one going cheap?...)?
