I've only been able to follow this thread through the web interface (yeah, I'm
on holiday! :) but I'd just like to contribute to this discussion.
I'd like to see an Irish language motto for the ILUG. We haven't a hope, and it's
unrealistic to think that people would converse in Irish on this list or at
meetings, but it would be nice to see some "token gesture" to the culture of
our country in a prominent position.
It says something about us when the only regular use of Irish is by an 
American on the list (Kevin Lyda mails to "an Comhphobail ILUG" or something 
similar).

Apologies for the formatting in this email - I'm writing this using the 
command line mail command on lugh!
