Does anybody know anything about the linmodem driver
for the LT modem, will there be an updated version for
kernel 2.2.14 anytime soon or should I just go out and
buy a proper modem(anybody have one going cheap?...)?

Look at www.linmodem.org (I think). I got the latest version of the module
there and it works fine. I had some problems with an earlier version. I
feel good about my modem now. I think the version I got was 5.68.

Incidentally if you are using it in Windows you should do a search for the
latest driver for that too. I got about a 10% better connection speed. The
version number was slightly higher, 5.70.

Have fun!

Peter
