i think (iirc) perhaps he was looking for the ncurses way of doing
it. (he was asking for curses help in a previous thread)

I doubt the ncrusted state-keeping would deal well with his code
printf()'ing control chars. Slightly defeats the purpose of using a
terminal control library. ncurses won't know that you have written to
the terminal.

any ncurses gurus out there?

[PS: try searching the net for curses tutorials, and also check in a
good library for some Unix programming books, some also go over curses)
