Has anybody here looked into Zope at all? Transactional object store on
the backend, built-in scripting machinery and access to Python code for
business logic, and a web server/DAV server/FTP server at the front.
It offers a lot of advantages such as comprehensive security settings,
acquisition which allows common content to be factored out, and handy
'products' for handling XML documents, searching the site, creating
discussion forums etc.
And while speed has sometimes been an issue in the past, the technology for
creating a cluster of machines running Zope will soon be available, which
should greatly improve performance.
I'll stop with my ad for Zope now ;-)
Cheers,
Gary.
