[ILUG] questions about aliased ethernet devices

[ILUG] questions about aliased ethernet devices

I'm trying to get sshd to run on a machine with aliased network devices.
ETH0 has several IPs and even though I put one of the addresses in
sshd_config I still get an error in /var/log/messages about sshd failing
to find an address to bind to. I suspected a dns issue at this stage and
put the address in /etc/hosts with no difference. Has anyone figured out
how to fix this problem?

If I alias eth0 to a new address can I masquerade a network through it?

Donncha.
