[ILUG] Audio from dat

[ILUG] Audio from dat

From the mists of time I remember a discussion on this in a soundcard newsgroup. The concensus then was that non of the computer DAT units supported audio out, execept for Sony units. I don't know if this is still the case.

This link http://www.webdevelopersjournal.com/Audio/_audio/00000139.htm mentions that there is a problem buffering data with audio tapes. Unusually, Northern Light ( nlsearch.com ) didn't turn up anything else useful.

Subject: [ILUG] Audio from dat

Anyone know of any way of getting audio off an audio dat, using
adat drive on a pc.

Or failing that anyone know of any minidisc players that have
scsi conectors on them, that could be used to extract the audio
from the minidisc.

These are for a linux box ( just to make surewe stay on topic )
Colin
