Ack! I'd better cover my ass on that last one too - I read an article
recently which was quite like what I said there, and I hated every damn
word of it. So, no, Microsoft didn't put all those machines in people's
houses. My point is that they did have a huge affect on the Internet,
like it or not. So did Linus, so did Marc, so did everyone else.
But I don't like people knocking Microsoft completely - they're crap
operating systems, and so is most of the software. I hate the man, but I
admire his business acumen. He sold shit to people for years, and he's
still selling shit to people. He's got what, 40 or 60 billion in
personal wealth? I don't know about you, but if I had to sell shit to
get that much money, I'd whip out my shovel like a shot.
Course I'd spend it all on hookers and booze, but that's just life
innit? :)
