I signed up with BOI about 2 years ago and yes they did give you such
a device. Basically you'd go to their web site and they'd issue you
with a 4-digit key to enter into the device. The device would then
return another number which you would enter into a form on their WWW
site, along with your account number. I haven't used it in a good
while tho (not much point looking at online display of info you
already know, ie YOU ARE BROKE) so don't sue me if any of the above
info is wrong.
Anyway I got a letter from BOI last week saying they are doing away
with the number generator, instead you'll be asked what you're
eye-colour is, favourite type of music and er, someting else I forget,
along with you account number and PIN.
