Hi,
I have been playing with creating some mp3s so that i do not
have to tie up my CD drive on my work machine. Now I have
been using Grip (one of the packages from Helix Gnome) but similar
functionality is available in gtcd. Both try to get the Track listings
from cddb or the freecddb site.
On my machine at home when I do a straight connection they work fine.
At work I have to make a connection through the http proxy. This however
never seems to work. I have checked the proxy environment variable by
using
lynx. Has anybody else got these working using a http connection.
Either one of two things happen, I get nothing or the machine appears
to become heavily loaded.
Regards,
Mark
