Because info was slightly pre web and the default infopage browser info
must rank as the most hideous to use hyperlinked program known to man.
Fire it up there on your linux machine and bask in its warm glow. If you
are an emacs user and use the inbuild emacs info mode then Ive heard
mention that its quite spiffy. I have used it about twice in six years,
each time for about 2.5 seconds.
Its not really info the file format that is at fault, but info the
browser that has given it the bad name.
