Hello all,
A while ago my laptop (Acer 312D) was involved in a wee accident which
left it with a smashed up screen. It still works so long as I plug in a
minitor, but I can't see anything on the laptop screen.
The other day I installed redhat 6.2 on it but when it got to the
Xconfig bit the monitor that it was plugged into went blank. It appears
that when it starts X the display is switching to the broken laptop
screen.
Is there a way to force X to use the external monitor or is this
something that would be laptop specific (if so I can't find any info on
how to do it in either my laptop documentation or on the acer website).
I suppose I could just stick to the console, but I'd really like to get
X working...
Thanks,
Kathryn.
