It rocks, doesn't it?
Everything John says about AOLserver is true. And it was way ahead in
terms of server-compiled scripting - it supported Tcl natively long
before it was trendy to do so.
PHP's cute, and easy to develop in, but if you can possibly stick Tcl
it's well worth the effort (and it gets a _lot_ easier as time goes on).
