I'd prefer that we do not go down the route of password
protecting the public (ilug@, cork@ et al) mailing lists
for 3 reasons:
1. Imposing passwords on those mailing lists goes well
against the grain and there is no good reason why
the solutions, support and tech conversations provided
in those mailing lists should not be available for any
one to read.
2. Do you seriously want yet another password to remember?
3. Considering the reason why imposing passwords on the
mailing list archives has been suggested it makes much more
sense to merely obfusicate/semimangle the email addresses
contained in the postings.
