[ILUG] Memory Detection Problem

Philip Reynolds phil at redbrick.dcu.ie

Stephen Shirley's [diamond at csn.ul.ie] 41 lines of dribble included:
<:
<:Problem solved - I'm now booting from Lilo -
<:and all the memory is being detected.
<:I have no idea why the loadlin way wasn't
<:working, but I'm happy now.
<:
<:As for the mem= option - it's probably not
<:working for the same reason that the memory
<:wasn't working in the first place.
<:
<:Thanks for all the suggestions people,

Try setting the memory a couple of megs lower than your total memory (i.e. if
it's 128 MB RAM use 124 MB)

When booting try doing it at the LiLo boot prompt
i.e.
linux mem="124M"
Also if you have it in lilo.conf make sure it's just before the first image
tag.
Regards,
Phil.
