Ok I'm going to try to explain this now...

I have installed a clean Mandrake 7.0 and removed all daemons like Http,
samba, Telnet, News, X servers and so on.

Then I'm using a normal pppd and chat command, I dial my ISP and wait for
ogin: and ssword: and by doing a Tail -f /var/log/messages I can see that
it connects and is happy with username and password then it gives a message
like ppp0 <---> modem Connected... And the something like LCP : Timeout ( I
dont have the exact message here but can get it if its important ) I have
tryed to change modems, and the wait on LCP packets but still the same... I
have also tryed connecting with pap and Chap scripts but still the same, I
have tryed two different ISp's ( Eircom and Indigo ) But there have to be
something I'm missing....

The Linux box is only text modus so no X windows Configurations please...

Is there anybody out there that knows what I'm talk about...
