Hardly. In online.ie, we contribute to the projects that we use - Harry
has sent in loads of patches to AOLserver, I've sent in a few to IMP &
CourierIMAP. It's hardly "giving away expertise" - it's "making sure that
the next version of the software doesn't require me to re-patch it, with
our local bug fixes".
